Organic Farming

Our herbal gardens/ urban farm was founded in 2000. We bought our 5 acre farm in 2011.

In 2012 our urban farm was downsized and replaced by a parking lot :(

Our 5 acre farm is in West Greenwich, RI.

This rural addition brings many more locally grown medicinal herbs, honey and more herbal education programs.

We produce all of our products using organic farming methods.

Herbal Products

We sell Teas, Herbal Products, Honey and over 300 medicinal herbs at our store in Providence. We also sell our products at farmers markets, local stores and restaurants. Our products are produced with herbs grown on our 5 acre farm in West Greenwich, RI. They are then made into herbal products in our production kitchen in Providence.
Our store is open 5 days per week.

Herb Shop

Our shop, located on Cemetery Street in Providence, opened in 2008 and is open 5 days a week as a natural health/herbal resource for the community.

The Farmacy herb shop is open:

Sundays 12am-4pm
Mondays 10am-5pm

Wednesdays 10am-3pm
Thursdays 10am-5pm
Fridays 10am-5pm

We carry a wide range of bulk dried herbs, herbal products, bottles, jars and books.

We grow lots of the herbs in our shop. Whatever we don't grow we get from Mountain Rose Herbs, a fair trade, organic distibutor.
We blend specific formulas for Naturopaths and Holistic MDs.
Come on by to peruse the store, check out our resource library, or get a custom blend to support your health!

We have books in our library about herbs, mushrooms, nutritional healing, trees, and much much more!

A graduate of the Herbal Education and Training program in 2011 and Herbal Training Intensive in 2012, Aja is committed to supporting health and nourishment through accessible herbal medicine and enlightened nutrition.

In addition to supporting overall health and healing for men and women of all ages, her areas of focus include women's health and reproductive support for women. Aja currently writes an herbal healing column for Sacred Pregnancy Magazine and is a student of herbalist Aviva Romm's Herbal Medicine for Women Training Program. In addition to her work as an herbal educator, she is also a trained Kripalu Yoga and Meditation Teacher - committed to helping people heal through a rich engagement with the body and spirit.

Care About Cancer Program

jessica gill

Jessica Gill, Summer of 2006

Our dear friend Jessica passed away of cancer on January 10, 2008 at the age of 33.   One of her last wishes was to ask her community to donate to Farmacy Herbs (in place of flowers during her memorial). This gift from Jessica gave us enough money to build our health and education center.

Jessica's giving spirit is behind our project.

What is the Care About Cancer Program?

*This is program is purely educational, focusing on referrals to holistic Cancer Practitioners, and free herbs and supplements to low income cancer patients.

Vanessa Jones on volunteering with Farmacy:

"Farmacy Herbs has become a place to remember lessons and learn many more. It is a place that reminds me of the goodness in the world, a place that allows hope to shine through the fear of compliance to a way of life that suppresses the soul. And it manages to do this from a little patch of green surrounded by concrete."
